The Hilal to commence the month of Muharram 1442 AH was looked for after the sunset of Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Reports from local Ulama committees of CHC confirmed that the moon was SIGHTED in Houston, TX.
The Central Hilal Committee of North America has accepted these report(s) and has declared:
Thursday, August 20, 2020 will be the 1st day of Muharram 1442 AH.
