Shaban 1442H

  • Posted on: March 10, 2021

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Dear Brothers/Sisters in Islam,

Please make an effort to sight the Hilal on Saturday, March 13, 2021, for the month of Sha'ban 1442.

We humbly remind that this is a fardh kifayah and special emphasis was given by Rasulullah ﷺ regarding Sha'ban :

« احصوا هلال شعبان لرمضان »

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "[Carefully] Look for the Hilal of Sha'ban for Ramadan" (Tirmidhi 687)

كان رسول الله ﷺ يتحفظ من شعبان ما لا يتحفظ من غيره

The Messenger of Allah  ﷺ used to carefully preserve (look for the Hilal of) Sha'ban like that of no other month. (Abu Dawood 2325)

Alhamdulillah, by the joint effort of all the Ulama and great cooperation throughout the States, we have revived this forgotten Sunnah of moonsighting throughout the year in many localities, all across the nation.
