The Hilal to commence the month of Shawwal 1447 AH was looked for after the sunset on Thursday, March 19, 2026. The Hilal WAS SIGHTED by ru'yah ammah throughout the east coast by CHC subcommittee members and more to follow inshaAllah.
The Central Hilal Committee of North America has accepted these reports and has declared Friday, March 20, 2026 will be Eid al Fitr and the 1st day of Shawwal 1447 AH.
